Slotin Folk Art Auction is the premier auction house for Self-taught Art, Folk Art, Southern Folk Pottery and Antique & Anonymous Works. The February 24, 2007 Slotin Auction will feature 950 lots including a Special Masterpiece Benefit for The American Folk Art Museum & the prestigious lifetime collection of Howard Campbell. Spectacular works by Joseph Yoakum, Charles A.A. Dellschau, James Castle, Leroy Person, Minnie Evans, Charles Steffen, Dwight Mackintosh, Elijah Pierce, Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, Eddie Arning, William Hawkins, Robert St. Brice, and Purvis Young are offered for sale as a Benefit Auction for the Museum. 100% of the total purchase price of each item (including buyer’s premium) will go to support the Museum. The Howard Campbell Collection includes rare and unique items, many of which have been exhibited in shows and are well-documented. His collection spans decades and includes fabulous antique and anonymous folk art and some wonderful pieces of contemporary self-taught art. Lot 505 - Jan Dobkowski - Polish Artist - Fantastic Grouping of 30 Abstract Erotics from the 1970's. These pieces have never before been offered to the public. Dobkowski is considered one of Poland's most outstanding artists. His work has been exhibited internationally for more than 30 years including showings in the Guggenheim Museum in NY and the Nation Museums of Warsaw, Lodz and Gdansk.
